FAMS started its group business activities in Angola with the creation of FAMS Transitarios Lda in 2015; the shareholders with a combined experience of 50+ years in West Africa and the freight logistics industry. Having previously worked in senior regional roles within international freight networks, the owners and directors of FAMS Angola have broad freight logistics experience in the region and deep knowledge of customer requirements in the Oil & Gas sector.

FAMS Angola became the DSV agent for Angola in January 2016, an agency relationship that continues post the DSV global acquisition of the Panalpina Group. Combined with DSV, FAMS is able to offer locally tailored freight solutions but with a global reach through the DSV network.

Since inception, FAMS has grown organically in Angola. In addition to FAMS Transitarios conducting freight forwarding and customs brokerage, FAMS also offers courier & international procurement services. Courier services are delivered through FAMS Express that holds a franchise agreement with Aramex. International procurement through the FAMS subsidiary FLR Lubes that holds a licence to trade in the Oil & Gas market sector.

The company is based in the heart of Luanda with premises close to the Port and Ministry of Commerce. All the FAMS entities are based in the same premises to ensure efficient client processing across multiple service offerings. The company operates a fleet of vehicles to provide courier and airfreight deliveries, and out-sources ocean freight deliveries to vetted specialist transportation companies. FAMS has an “in-house” customs broker to ensure efficient processing of customs entries. From the base in Luanda, FAMS offers nationwide customs clearance, freight delivery & pick-up solutions.
